What can be Engraved on a KeepStake?
You can request any text in the English alphabet. There is a maximum of 250 characters (including spaces) on a memorial plaque. You can also add a clipart image to the top of your plaque. Please don't feel that you have to fill the entire engraving area, we suggest that 150 characters or less looks best. Our rectangular plaque has slightly more space for engraving, so if you have close to 250 characters, we suggest you choose this shape.
Whatever text you choose, we will adjust fonts and text size to ensure your message looks as good as possible. We will use bold or larger text for key names, where appropriate and script font for quotes.
To ensure the stake looks fantastic when it arrives with you, or your recipient, we use a black fluid to treat the engraved text and make it stand out. This black colour fades to grey within a few days of exposure to the outdoors, however the engraving is obviously everlasting and will still look good for decades to come. We recommend caring for your plaque by polishing it once a month with a beeswax furniture polish. This simple routine will ensure it stays legible and clean.
